Qaummaq suggests there is a source from which light originates—like a lightbulb, a fire, or the sun.

Qaummaq

The word comes from the Fish River dialect of Inupiatun,

a language that evolved over millennia from the tundra, streams, and rivers 100 miles below the Arctic Circle.
